I loved it quite a lot, as well. I would put it on par with ‘Three Stories’ and ‘House’s Head/Wilson’s Heart’, which I consider to be the best examples of writing in the series. I’m really looking forward to the new season. The audience at the advanced screening went nuts for this episode, so I think fans of the show will enjoy it a lot. Nonfans of the show can enjoy it, as well, since it doesn’t require knowledge of the series as a whole. It’s almost entirely self-contained, which is why I think it would be a good starting place for newbies.

I was vert luncky and honored to able to go and see the advance showing of House in Hollywood. This was one of, if not the best episode I have seen of all the previous episodes. The story is very moving and had me lock into my seat the whole show, I didn’t want to miss a single second. Excellent story and show, don’t miss it.

I think S5 is one of the strongest seasons of Angel, since they got rid of the most problematic character: Cordelia. They wrote themselves into a corner with that one and I was really, really glad to see her go. I also like the changed dynamic and W&H. I think S2 and S3 are also very good, with S4 and S1 being the weakest (though still good).

I like all of Joss’ work. I find it strange that season 5 of Angel was the series which people took with them, as I found it a little disapointing, compared to trhe first four. I would have liked to have seen another two series.

You give me too much credit; I didn’t do it consciously, nor am I familiar with the weather phenomena of Nigeria. I try to look at it from an entertainment (writing, directing, etc) perspective. Unless they do something waaaayyyy out there, like introducing time traveling or something, I’m willing to suspend disbelief.

Interesting review, I enjoyed the show too. I am most appreciative of the fact that you’ve referred to the location using the more vague term “Africa” as opposed to Nigeria, because very little (in fact nothing other than the names Abuja, Jos and Lagos) was in fact Nigerian, least of all the hurricane (there are actually NO hurricanes at all in Nigeria) It would have worked much better if they took your lead an left the location more non-specific.

I agree about Angel. I liked that show as much if not more than Buffy. I guess it’s the fact that Angel is seen as a spinoff of Buffy that people don’t mention it. Sometimes when people refer to Buffy, I assume they’re talking about the Buffy-verse, which includes both shows. I also didn’t like Firefly as much as Whedon’s other two shows, although it had some good humor and characters.
